Making your art possible
A fiscal sponsor for your next project
Third Space Foundry (formerly Reciprocity Volunteer Foundation) is a 501c(3) not-for-profit foundation that primarily offers fiscal sponsorship including financial-logistical support for community art, technology, and science projects.
Fiscal sponsorship is not funding—we do not directly fund projects! We provide logistical support around your finances: things like bank accounts, 501c(3) status for your project (so donors can get tax credits for their donations), access to company donation portals, and the like.
Generally, projects we sponsor range in budget from $10,000-$100,000 in their first year.
We’re passionate about
A third space exists outside the spheres of work or home, a place where people gather and communities are born and nurtured. We believe that art creates an invaluable third space, not just for those who view or experience it, but also (and perhaps most importantly) for those who labour to create it in the first place.
Bringing people together
Inspiring curiosity
Our capacity for curiosity, wonder, and communal creation keeps our species going. The world drags us into the daunting and monotonous challenges of daily life, yet we know that art and science reinvigorate that joyous spark so central to our place in the Universe.
Increasing our understanding of the world
Our world is full of mysteries that pose questions great and small. In the third space, the symbiotic union of art and science can reveal truths and knowledge that neither can reveal alone. We want our collaborative and interactive projects to bring that unique, emergent perspective to all people, so that everyone has an opportunity to increase their understanding and appreciation for the Natural and human world.

Dr Brainlove, Burning Man 2016-2017
